Fire District Commissioner Meeting

Opening Prayer: Dallin called the meeting to order at 8:00. The opening prayer was offered by Mike Miller. Present were Commissioners Jim Deuel, Mike Miller, Gordon Ball, Roger Anderson, and Dallin Gambles. Fire Chiefs Carl Anderson, Nic White, Jared Giannini, BC’s, Mitch Bingham, Jim Kelley, and Garth Foster. Nile Hall took minutes. No patrons were present.

Agenda: The printed agenda was present for all in attendance to view. Jim moved to approve the agenda and all present voted in the affirmative.

Minutes: Roger moved to accept the minutes as presented. Gordon seconded and voting was unanimous by Jim, Dallin, Roger, Mike, and Gordon in the affirmative.

Budget Review: Nile reported that expenditures were in line with the budget. Additional work is needed to categorize expenditures associated with the ambulance.

Approval of Expenditures—Action Item. Gordon moved to accept the expenditures of $25,791.15 and $84,349.26 for payroll for a total of $110,140.41. Jim seconded and voting was unanimous by Jim, Dallin, Roger, Mike, and Gordon in the affirmative.

OLD BUSINESS
• None

NEW BUSINESS
• The Commissioner meeting for December will be at 6:30 PM at the Rigby Middle School lunchroom. Station 1 will oversee the winter dinner and awards ceremony beginning at 7:00 PM.
• Christmas Bonus action item. Jim moved to give the same bonus to all personnel in the same amount and manner as at the last Winter activity. Gordon seconded and voting was unanimous by Jim, Dallin, Roger, Mike, and Gordon in the affirmative.
• Turnouts Action item. Nic proposed that we continue with our effort to upgrade turnouts as was started 2 years ago. Nic has received a bid for 8 turnouts at $27,656.96. Roger moved to have Nic go forward with the purchase. Mike seconded and voting was unanimous by Jim, Dallin, Roger, Mike, and Gordon in the affirmative.
• Ambulance discussion. Jared reported that during the month of October there were 39 transports taken since the beginning of the month. 35 were residents of our district and 4 were non-residents. Things seem to be working out well with our personnel working with the ambulance.

FIRE CHIEF REPORT: Carl reported that 3 engines were dispatched to help a trailer house fire in Roberts. The trailer ended up as a total loss. The EMS Chief of Idaho Falls is quite happy with the way our ambulance is responding and wants to keep a line of communication open to discuss how things are progressing.

ASSISTANT CHIEF REPORT: Nic reported responding to a woman in labor and when they arrived on scene the baby had been delivered and the mother and baby were waiting to be transported. Mitch Bingham, Station 4 reported that there were 357 kids that showed up on Halloween night at the fire station and good time was had by all.

ASSISTANT EMS CHIEF: Comments were made in number 4 of New Business above.

Commissioners Report: No comments. Mike made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and Jim seconded, and voting was unanimous by Jim, Dallin, Roger, Mike and Gordon in the affirmative. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
