ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • The Red Cross has received some smoke detectors and they will be installing them in our area soon. They have asked if the district has any volunteers who could accompany their installers as Goodwill Ambassadors for CFD. They normally try to do installations on Saturdays. They will give us advance notice. Please let me know if you would be willing to assist with this worthwhile project!
  • As I stated at our District EMS drill on February 2nd, the company that manufactures the Physio-Control Lifepak 1000 Defibrillator that we carry on all of our EMS trucks has detected an isolated problem with the battery and the devices electrical contacts. We are following the “Required Customer Actions” set forth by the company and the Food and Drug Administration. We will be notified when they have a “Device Correction” for these units. There have been 34 reports of incidents and 8 adverse events related to this problem nationwide. Your station leadership will review this with you in the upcoming drills on a regular basis. Please contact me if you have any further questions. -170
