Fire Commissioner Meeting

The commissioner meeting began at 8:00 p.m. Commissioners in attendance were Gordon Ball, Jim Deuel, and Dallin Gambles. The Fire Chief Bryan Grover and Asst. Chief Carl Andersen in addition to the BC from each station were present.

Gordon reported on interviews for a fire commissioner to replace Don Reed who submitted his resignation in February. Jim introduced Roger Anderson and moved that the commissioners appoint Roger as the new commissioner for Zone 3. Dallin seconded and the vote was unanimous.

Old Business

discussion included replacement turnouts. The replacements have been distributed through last year and this year with the final order being next year. Approximately 65 turnouts will eventually be replaced.
Carl is collecting information regarding backup generators for each station.
Training on the updated Firehouse Inventory system will be the end of April.
Bryan gave a report on the timeline for the 164 chassis.
A new web page will be ready by May.

New business

discussion from Bryan was recommended ladder and hose testing.
Fire Apparatus from SLC will do the testing. It was suggested that old hose be separated and replaced rather than spend the money to test it, as it will likely fail the testing. Jim suggested that new replacement hose be purchased and in place at the time of testing. It was moved and seconded to contract with Fire Apparatus to start testing ladders, hose and snorkel and pump truck testing.

The fire chief and BC’s reported that the district has had an extremely busy month. They commended the volunteers for the hard work and how well the stations all work together.
