July 2019 Newsletter

  • UPCOMING EVENTS
  • Krupp Scout Water Days are July 23rd – 26th.  We need a few people each day around noon to go participate in a water fight with the scouts.  Please contact the district office if you could help.
  • August 17th will be the annual summer party with the sheriff’s office.  Station 4 will be responsible for planning and setup.  Softball practice to start soon!
  • ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Our BLM truck has arrived! It is sitting in the district bay.  We want to get people familiar with the truck.  It will sit here for district-wide responses.  We want the firefighters from all stations to be familiar with it.  Please stop by when you have time and we will show you the fundamentals.  You can also take it out for fire drills.  It will be called Brush 491.  The first number signifies the “wildland type.”  The 91 is just a high number that is not assigned a CFD handheld radio.  It makes sense to us, just go with it!!
  • Thanks to all that worked through the Independence Day holiday.  This month has started off with a bang!
  • For those of you who don’t get to hear pager tests on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings, we will be starting to utilize Active911 for more announcements.

What Does it Mean to be a Firefighter/EMT?  It’s all about Competency:  We need to be competent and confident in our abilities. Trust:  We need to have trust in ourselves and in our teammates.  Also, Accountability: To ourselves, our teammates and most importantly the public we server.  Thanks for all you do.  – Nic White 170
